This is no ordinary Down Island [not that they are ever ordinary]. It’s the 40th anniversary of Down Island, and the hares will be none other than the pangolin-rescuing founder of Down Island himself, Mijo Slut, and the equally talented Village Idiot. Both are exceptional hares who have designed two great, never-before run trails together, just for us, in the picturesque area of Shibi, just north of Alishan where Yunlin, Chiayi, and Nantou Counties meet. Come run and frolic among endless tea fields and pristine wilderness. Take the party bus on Friday and arrive in time for an epic hotel bash. Enjoy a hangover run Saturday morning, an ㄆnd the infamous midnight run if you are so inclined. After a recovery breakfast and another glorious hash, you can take the bus back to Taipei and keep the party going for as long as the cops let you. Down Island is always a memorable time for hashers to let loose [even more than usual], but with Mijo Slut and Village Idiot at the helm you can bet the runs themselves will be well worth the journey.
