Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time to sign up for Down Island 2026 (Oct 17/18)! Taiwan Hash’s annual weekend of revelry, running, and passing out in the wrong hotel room. A chance to celebrate the deep and distant wonders that Taiwan holds in its mountainous heart, all while in various states of undress. This year’s enigmatic destination is Lushan. During the Japanese era, Lushan was named one of Taiwan’s “three great hot springs”. A tourist town blossomed. Then the buildings were battered by typhoons, bridges collapsed, hotels abandoned, and the mountains scarred by landslides. Sounds like the perfect spot for hashing! After a night of partying in our own private (unabandoned) hotel, you’ll experience the absurdist route-setting of Xiaojiji and Panty Pirate: old trails brought back to their former glory, held together with duct tape, twine, and previously-worn g-strings. Saturday night, after an epic feast, feel the breeze caress your skin on the special midnight run, featuring traditional Seediq trails. Not completely drained of energy on Sunday? Of course not – you’re a hasher! Time to put the ‘best’ in ‘asbestos’ as Toasted Taint and Shibari Gayblow take you urban exploring through the spookiest interiors Lushan has to offer.
