Elwood Blues led Sticky Fingers into his squalid bedroom. A small cot, sagging in the middle, took up about half the space, leaving room for a small cluttered worktop, covered with booze bottles. The one small window at the end of the room was so close to the Brown Line that Sticky Fingers could almost reach out and touch the passing trains. “Well, it ain’t much, but it’s home,” said Elwood, taking off his jacket and pulling out a bottle of rum. Sticky Fingers lay down on the bed. A Wenhu Line train passed by, shaking the very walls around him, causing the springs underneath him to creak. “How often does the train go by?” “So often you won’t even notice it.” Sticky Fingers began to regret hiding out with Elwood, ever since the trailmasters found out that they hadn’t planned their trail yet. “Tomorrow we gotta get our trail together, Elwood. Is there somewhere I can pee in this joint?” “Just go in the trash can. Are you a hasher or not?” Elwood Blues 帶著 Sticky Fingers 走進自己那間破舊不堪的臥室。 房裡只有一張中間已經塌陷的小單人床，占去了大半空間，剩下的位置只放得下一張凌亂的工作桌，上頭堆滿了各式酒瓶。 房間盡頭唯一的一扇小窗，離文湖線高架軌道近得嚇人，Sticky Fingers 幾乎伸手就能碰到經過的列車。 「雖然寒酸了點，不過這就是家。」Elwood 一邊說，一邊脫下外套，拿出一瓶蘭姆酒。 Sticky Fingers 躺到床上。 一列文湖線列車呼嘯而過，整間房子都跟著震動，床底的彈簧發出吱嘎作響的呻吟。 「火車多久經過一次？」Sticky Fingers 問。 「多到你很快就習慣了。」Elwood 回答。 自從路線組發現他們根本還沒規劃路線後，Sticky Fingers 就開始後悔躲來 Elwood 家。 「明天我們真的得把路線規劃好，Elwood。這地方有廁所嗎？我想尿尿。」 「垃圾桶啊。」Elwood 若無其事地說。 你到底是不是捷兔跑者？ *** Underneath the elevated railway, in a dusty Toyota Prius, Come On Baby watched the apartment block through a pair of binoculars. From Elwood’s window, she scanned downwards to the street level entrance, and saw two shadowy figures enter: Globefucker and The Leash. Her binoculars panned upwards as they climbed the stairs. “Elwood Blues,” she said under her breath. “You forgot to pay hashy cashy too many time!” From the passenger seat she pulled out a large bazooka, and pointed it at Elwood, who was grilling toast next to the window. Globefucker and The Leash approached the apartment door and knocked, but Elwood couldn’t hear it over the sound of the MRT thundering past. Come On Baby pulled the trigger, sending an 84mm rocket directly into the tiny bedsit. The tenement building exploded in a ball of flame.
