The 228 incident was an anti-government uprising suppressed by the Kuomingtang led Republic of China Government which killed thousands of civilians. Beginning on February 28th 1947 the number of estimated Taiwanese deaths from the incident are estimated to be somewhere between 5 and 28 thousand. The incident marked the beginning of the White Terror in which tens of thousands of other Taiwanese went missing, were imprisoned or were killed. The incident is one of the most important events in modern Taiwanese history. ********** Ladies and genteman, 228 is here again. This year 228 falls on a Sunday and as such we have arranged to mark the solemn day with a triple joint run, bringing together Taiwan Hash, 228 Hash and New Taipei Hash House harriers. The good news is that as the beer truck is being organised by NTH³ the prices will follow their system $200 for men, $150 for the fairer sex and a measly $50 for children under the age of admission for highschool. Please bring your own cups and tableware as no diposable cups will be provided.
